Medical Records Review

Medical Records Review

Medical records are the foundation upon which a vocational opinion relies. The medical treatment and opinions of physicians are what vocational experts depend upon to assess the vocational impact or limitations on a client’s ability to work and function day-to-day.

In addition to the medical records and opinions of physicians, educational history, military history, on the job training, and past relevant work in the last 15-year period can assist in a transferability skills analysis to other work. In some cases, the opposing expert may not have identified these transferable skills and therefore this analysis can be used to effectively challenge the opposing expert’s opinion.

Additional factors required in a vocation evaluation include the client’s age at the time of the accident, occupation and employer, job duties and responsibilities, salary, prior medical treatments and conditions, medical conditions at the time of the accident, as well as current medical/psychological condition.
